Join us on Sunday, July 13th at our 9:00 a.m. Worship Service. We will have the pleasure of hearing Richard VanAucken on the organ. Mr. VanAucken is a native of Quakertown, PA and began playing piano and organ at the age of 11. At 13, he was appointed organist of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Kellers Church, PA. After graduation and service with the U.S. Marines in Korea, he studied at the Philadelphia Conservatory of Music. Mr. VanAucken has performed throughout much of the United States as a Recitalist and has recorded several CD’s. Eighteen Hymn arrangements, which he wrote for the organ, have been published along with many articles in national magazines. Mr. VanAuken has performed at places like Longwood Gardens and the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C.
We will worship together with our fellow Lutherans and Mennonites for the special UNION WORSHIP at Dillingersville. OZUCC is responsible for coordinating the day and leading worship. Make sure that you join with us on Saturday evening and 10:00 on Sunday morning.
We will be in the Pentecost season from now until Advent. This half of the year is our response in service to the first half of the year. Let’s be present each Sunday to learn more about how to serve. The lessons for this Sunday are from Genesis 22:1-14; Psalm 13; Romans 6:12-23 and Matthew 10:40-42. This day is the celebration of the fresh coming of the Holy Spirit to enliven and empower the church. The lessons are from Acts 2:1-21; Psalm 104:24-34, 35b; 1 Corinthians 12:3b-13; John 20:19-23. Worship theme: “Many Tongues – One Message.”
